#GivingTuesday: Want to give the gift of history for the next generation? Please consider donating to the Filipino American National Historical Society! If every one of our FANHS Facebook followers donated $1 (or more), we would have enough to pay the rent for our FANHS National Office and National Pinoy Archives. Or maybe you would like to purchase a lifetime membership for your family, a loved one, or a student as a holiday gift. Due to the pandemic, we had to cancel our 2020 FANHS biennial national conference, which usually helps generate revenue for the national office and the next conference host. In the meantime, we have transitioned many of our historical, educational events to virtual video meetings online, while the technology in our National Office is sorely outdated.
Founded by now 88-year-old Executive Director Dr. Dorothy Laigo Cordova in 1982, FANHS is completely run by volunteers, with no salaried staff. We rely heavily on generous donations from friends and family like you. The FANHS Mission is “To promote understanding, education, enlightenment, appreciation and enrichment through the identification, gathering, preservation and dissemination of the history and culture of Filipino Americans in the United States.” FANHS does this through our educational programs, historical exhibits, “TGIF” Thank God I’m Filipino speaker series and Growing Up Brown forums, historical documentaries, arts and culture events, research consultations, photograph collections, oral history recordings and workshops, Journal publications, FANHS National Pinoy Archives (in Seattle), FANHS National Museum (in Stockton), biennial national conferences, and much more. FANHS is the organization that established October as Filipino American History Month.Help us share history all year long for future generations.
Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps and is very much appreciated. Since FANHS is a registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization, your donation is tax-deductible. Many companies will also match your donation, too. We are currently accepting donations through our online Paypal donation gateway here or if you prefer writing us a check, please make the check payable to the address below. Maraming Salamat/Many Thanks for your support!
