Dear FANHS Family and Friends,
For 38 years, the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) has gathered, documented, preserved, and disseminated Filipino American history. Our FANHS National Office and National Pinoy Archives in Seattle contains hundreds of oral histories, thousands of historic photographs, and tens of thousands of files on individuals, organizations, and historic issues – all shared with the general public at no cost. There is no paid staff – and day-to-day work is conducted by volunteers.
The FANHS National Museum in Stockton has become very busy with lectures, gatherings, and exhibits. Our 38 FANHS chapters throughout the country collect and share their local histories. Filipino American History Month in October, first created by FANHS in 1991, and recognized by the United States Congress in 2009, is now celebrated nationally by many Filipino groups and honored by different states and cities.
Every October to celebrate Filipino American History Month, FANHS National holds an event which highlights a different pioneer group or significant historical event. It has been our largest annual fundraiser. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we will not host our annual dinner. Instead, we will host a FANHS Online Auction that will open at 12AM PDT on Saturday, October 17, and close at 5:00 PM PDT on Sunday, October 18, 2020, and we hope that you all will participate. Select from an array of items: from Filipino cultural pieces, clothing, beautiful art prints, handmade jewelry, holiday, custom crafts, book collections, to unique collectibles. To help with annual fundraising for essential operational expenses for the FANHS National Office, please consider bidding on the auction or making a donation. Since FANHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your gift is tax-deductible.
