Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP), Toyota Giving Circle, Network of Toyota Filipino Associates (NTFA-USA, a Toyota Giving Circle), and Toyota Asian American Society in Alliance will partially support a team of six Filipino American high school and middle-level students from Los Angeles to attend the FANHS San Diego Conference. Three college students will assist in their learning. The grant covers the cost of registration and partial payment of hotel accommodations. Travel expenses will be provided by the Vice President of FANHS-LA Ronald Buenaventura.
The mini-grant was written by Ronald Buenaventura with the hope of introducing Filipino American middle school students with a sense belonging. Many of the students participated in Filipino and Multi-ethnic Club activities at their middle schools in Carson, and are members of the FANHS Los Angeles Chapter. However, more funds need to be raised to help defray the cost of travel and food. If you are interested in donated to support Filipino American middle school students, donations can be made to “Filipino American National Historical Society” and sent to the address:
